about

Mr. Fowks (aka Guillermo Omar Foulkes) is a deep house and deep tech producer from Argentina, who draws inspiration from some of the greats, mixing chunky beats with bewitching melodies.

For this EP on Sublease, Mr. Fowks has opened up his style considerably, and dived into a new artistic awakening. The man himself describes it like this “this Ep is the beginning of something new in my artistic life, I feel that I am a caterpillar that is starting to break the shell to become something new. In my sound a revolution is coming and I hope to give my best effort and surprise in the best way”.

Kicking off with Dirty Dishes, Fowks brings us a fairly classic sounding deep tech track with a strong beat and nice 90s style stabs and ambience - “a beautiful track to start the uplifting from the warm-up to more ‘main room’ tracks”, as Fowks puts it.

Those main tracks are ADSR and I'm Back.
ADSR utilizes a thick kick with a randomized production technique that throws up some highly interesting melodic sequences. “The concept comes from minimal, but the amount of melodies makes you feel in a progressive house song. I'm hoping to make the dancefloor a bit melodic but without leaving the heavy beats and solid grooves”, explains Fowks.

I'm Back is where the main sentimental idea of the EP is found. Fowks describes it wanting to tell “everyone about the moment I feel I'm going through, this idea that "I'm back" with my basses, my rhythm and new ideas. In this song I also try to get the bass to reach our hips and that simply the dance floor does not want to control itself and dive into a powerful groove”.
